The Dulwich Poster Gallery maintains a collection of over 150 original Cuban posters. The posters were collected in Cuba and from dealers and private collectors around the world. The collection includes original prints of Cuban posters from the ICAIC, OSPAAAL, Casa de las Americas and other Cuban agencies. The majority of the posters in the collection are film posters and political posters.
This collection of Cuban posters represents some of the most vibrant, confident and interesting design to come out of Cuba. The country has been beset by economic difficulties, shortages of materials and political and cultural challenges that have contributed in positive and negative ways to Cuba's poster output.
