The trustees of the Foundation provide a balance of direct experience in the developing world and wider charity experience. This enables them to provide an independent perspective appropriate for a UK charity.
Tom is an independent trustee. He qualified as a solicitor and practiced in London and the Middle East for five years before moving into finance. He has spent much of the past 25 years in fund management, and in latter years has focused on investor relations and corporate governance. Tom is actively involved in a number of charities.
Pip's infectious passion for travel began at an early age and includes many happy, hair-raising adventures through the world. She believes in stepping outside of the 'bubble' and encourages everyone to get out into the world and discover it for themselves.
David is chairman of AV and is passionate about improving the lives of rural communities in the developing world. He was born and educated in Asia, and has lived in Sydney, Hong Kong and Tokyo, as well as the UK. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he has spent 25 years in international fund management, with a focus on Asia and Africa.

Peter is joint founder of AV. He spent most of his career with the British Army in Borneo , Malaysia , Germany and Kenya .
He now resides in the UK and plays an active role in supporting developing world communities in areas where AV operates. He is currently chairman of the UK ’s Year Out Group.
